STREET CLUTTER: Now that the June primary is over, the candidates who don’t carry over to November will be taking their streets signs down, right? Don’t count on it. One problem is there’s no state or county control on signs. Many cities do--in Huntington Beach, for example, signs must be down 15 days after the election--but enforcement is spotty. . . . Says County Registrar Donald Tanney: “They’re an eyesore, and candidates, particularly those unsuccessful, tend to forget them. But somehow they all do come down, eventually.”
