Perot Trying to Buy 30 Minutes on TV

NEW YORK — Ross Perot is negotiating to buy half an hour of television time on June 27, his birthday and the date some have speculated he would announce his candidacy for President, network sources said Friday.
The Texan has approached ABC and NBC about purchasing a prime-time slot on the 27th, a Saturday, the sources said. Perot, who will be 62, has shown a penchant for taking important steps on his birthday. He started Electronic Data Systems Corp., the company where he made his billions, on his birthday in 1962.
