Outfielder Bobby Bonilla of the New York Mets, who has been booed at Shea Stadium the last two games, wore earplugs during the Mets’ 6-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves.
Bonilla went 0 for 4 and is batting .137 at home (10 for 73) with no home runs. He is 33 for 95 (.347) on the road with five homers.
Bonilla signed a five-year deal for $29.5 million with the Mets during the off-season. He is making $6.1 million this year.
