World IN BRIEF : KUWAIT : U.S. Group Accused of Interference

Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheik Ahmed al Jabbar al Sabah accused a U.S. delegation affiliated with the Republican Party of meddling in internal affairs by trying to run a seminar on political campaigns in private homes, a newspaper reported. “It is unacceptable for the members of the delegation to visit Kuwaiti diwaniyas ,” he was quoted as saying. Diwaniyas are nightly discussion sessions and open forums for government critics.
