Little League Suit
The lawsuit filed by Little Leaguer Ryan Balthazor against the Little League is a perfect example of decaying society (“Parents of Little Leaguer Injured by Wild Pitch Sue,” April 3). Even momma Nancy needs a remedy for her mental suffering, and Ryan needs compensation for not only physical but mental injuries.
These are little children, not professionals. This is a volunteer thing. We send our kids out to play, but the problem is that adults tag along. There is no guarantee that they won’t get hurt, but, thank God, not too often is the injury serious. Ryan should be permitted to grow up knowing that there are risks if he steps outside his bedroom.
Casper Park is shut down to minors. Are we going to shut down Little League because hysterical parents think they can raise their children in a guaranteed harmless environment? I hope the court throws the suit out, along with the parents and their attorney.
