Authorities were still searching for clues Wednesday in the slaying of a man found dead in a field near an unpaved road in a remote, unincorporated section of the northern Antelope Valley, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The unidentified body, that of a white man in his 20s, was discovered at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday along 80th Street East about half a mile north of E Street and south of Edwards Air Force Base, Deputy Rich Erickson said.
Erickson said the body was found by a man looking for aluminum cans, who ran home and called authorities.
The cause of death was not immediately known.
