The Bowers Museum of Cultural Art in Santa Ana has received capital campaign gifts totaling more than $350,000 in cash and $1 million in pledges from the Joan Irvine Smith and Athalie R. Clarke Foundation ($100,000), the Fletcher Jones Foundation ($40,000 to support a catalogue of the museum’s collection), and the museum’s board of governors.
The Bowers also recently selected David Wilhelm to run the museum’s new restaurant, which opens Oct. 15. Wilhelm and his wife, Nancy, own Kachina Grill and the Cancun Cafe in Laguna Beach, Barbacoa in Newport Beach and Bistro 201 in Irvine.
