Three teen-agers and a 4-year-boy boy suffered serious to critical injuries Tuesday in a drive-by shooting in the Koreatown area, officials said.
A 19-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and back and was in critical condition at County-USC Medical Center, said hospital spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda. The 4-year-old was in serious condition with a wound to his left thigh, De La Cerda said. A 17-year-old boy, wounded in the right thigh, and an 18-year-old man, shot in the groin, also were in serious condition, she said.
The shooting occurred about 1:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of West 12th Street.
Los Angeles Police Detective Mike Berchem told KNX: “It was a drive-by shooting. We think that it’s probably gang-related. We don’t have any idea who the suspects are or the vehicle or anything like that.”
