Chevron to Close Seattle Marketing Office: Chevron U.S.A. Products Co. says it will close its 95-employee Northwest marketing region office in Seattle and consolidate it with one in California. Chevron said the move is part of a companywide scale-down following a 40% drop in earnings last year. The Seattle marketing office manages the San Francisco-based petroleum company’s marketing operations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming. The regional office will be merged with Chevron’s West Central Region headquarters in San Ramon, Calif., east of San Francisco, sometime this summer.
