‘Boyz’ Draws Suit: A man paralyzed in a shooting outside a theater near San Francisco showing “Boyz N the Hood” filed a lawsuit claiming ads for the movie lured gang members to theaters. Alejandro Phillips’ lawsuit against Columbia Pictures said ads downplayed the anti-violence message of the movie. Phillips’ lawsuit, filed last week in Contra Costa Superior Court, seeks unspecified damages for medical expenses and lost earnings.
