CS Bakersfield Wins to Reach Nationals

BAKERSFIELD — Fred Eckles and Tyrone Pollard scored 17 points each and Cal State Bakersfield outscored UC Riverside, 11-9, in overtime to win the West Region NCAA Division II basketball tournament at the Cal State Activities Center.
It will be the third consecutive trip to the Division II national tournament at Springfield, Mass., for the Roadrunners (25-6).
UC Riverside finished its season at 24-6.
Charles Purdom led Riverside with 19 points and six rebounds.
