Defense Secretary Dick Cheney will investigate a Pentagon scientist’s charges of mismanagement, waste and abuse of authority in the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization. The Office of Special Counsel reported a “substantial likelihood” that the allegations were well-founded, and also conferred “whistleblower” protection on the accuser, Aldric Saucier, who was fired from the Army’s Strategic Defense Command.
