No. 17 UNLV 96, Long Beach 77--J.R. Rider scored 32 points to lead UNLV to a Big West Conference victory at Long Beach St.
Dexter Boney scored 19 points and Elmore Spencer added 17 for the Runnin’ Rebels (20-2, 12-0) who made 66 percent of their field goal attempts in winning their 17th consecutive game.
Bryon Russell scored 21 points and Bobby Sears had 17 points for the 49ers (12-8, 6-5).
The 49ers jumped out to an early 9-2 lead, but the Rebels went on a 26-11 run and moved out to a 38-20 advantage on a jumper by Spencer with 3:38 left in the first half.
