Carter Hawley Hale Will Eliminate 240 Jobs: The Los Angeles-based retailer said the jobs will be eliminated at its Broadway Southwest division headquarters in Phoenix as part of a cost-cutting move by the department store operator. The merchandising, sales promotion and administrative functions of Broadway Southwest will be consolidated into the Southern California Broadway division, resulting in more than $6 million in annual savings, the company said.
