4-DAY WEEK: The state wants employers to reduce commutes to fight smog, and the city of Stanton is responding. . . . Beginning Jan. 6, it will be the first city in Orange County to go to a full four-day workweek. Some cities have reduced operations on Fridays. But Stanton City Manager Terry Matz says four-day workweeks may be the norm in future years. Stanton offices will open at 7 a.m. Monday through Thursday, instead of 8 a.m., and close at 6 p.m., instead of 5. . . . “Our workers are all for it,” Matz says.
