A man who allegedly fired a gun at his wife barricaded himself in his home for 90 minutes Tuesday before being talked out by a police special-weapons team, police said.
Jim Ort, 53, allegedly fired a shot at his wife from a handgun about 9:45 p.m. Monday in a home in the 2500 block of East Elsiena Way, Police Lt. John Haradon said. The shot missed and Ort’s wife, who was not identified, was unhurt, Haradon said.
Ort left the home and was arrested several hours later, after an Anaheim police SWAT team surrounded his residence in the 6000 block of Butterfield Lane. Haradon said Ort surrendered without incident.
Ort was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and held on $10,000 bail. Police have not established a motive.
