St. Bonaventure 27, Carpinteria 13--St. Bonaventure running back Toby Noblin’s second touchdown run, a 58-yard dash in the fourth quarter, completed a 122-yard rushing performance to lead the Seraphs (4-3, 1-1) over host Carpinteria.
Noblin’s touchdown run came with eight minutes remaining and gave St. Bonaventure the margin of victory.
Carpinteria (5-2, 1-1), which scored its touchdowns on 52- and 60-yard drives, could not cross midfield in its last three possessions.
The Warriors’ final drive ended when quarterback Son Ngo’s pass was tipped by a teammate into the waiting hands of a St. Bonaventure defender. The Seraphs recorded four interceptions, including three on deflected passes.
St. Bonaventure quarterback Peter Houston completed six of seven passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown.
