Crescenta Valley 23, South Pasadena 20--Quarterback Aaron Schaefer threw a six-yard touchdown pass to Paul Lopez with 33 seconds remaining to lift the visiting Falcons.
Brian Spayth, filling in for the injured Jason Rountree, led the Crescenta Valley offense with 132 yards in nine carries, including touchdown runs of 66 and 57 yards.
Crescenta Valley (3-1) built a 10-0 halftime lead, then fell behind 20-13 late in the fourth quarter before rallying for the victory.
The game-winning drive was kept alive when Brett Miller caught a 45-yard pass from Schaefer to put the Falcons on the South Pasadena six-yard line with 43 seconds left.
