UAL to Buy Air Wis Services: UAL Corp., parent of rapidly expanding United Airlines, said it will take over the commuter carrier Air Wis Services Inc. in a stock swap and cash deal worth about $72 million. Chicago-based UAL said it had signed an agreement to acquire Air Wis, parent of Air Wisconsin, which flies under the name of United Express. The commuter carrier flies to 33 medium-size cities in 14 states, and primarily serves hubs at Chicago’s O’Hare International and Washington’s Dulles International airports. Appleton., Wis-based Air Wisconsin has 1,600 employees and 37 aircraft.
