Azusa : Rent Control Vote Possible

Residents may have the chance to vote for rent control during the 1992 city elections.
The City Council on Tuesday decided to conduct a workshop in early October, at which time residents and city officials will put together a draft ordinance setting up a three-phase rent control program. A date has yet to be set.
The ordinance, which will first target mobile homes, will then be placed on the election ballot, where it will need a majority vote to become law, Mayor pro tem Harry Stemrich said.
