Four firefighters who were injured while battling a fire in a commercial building Sunday have been released from the hospital, authorities said.
Six firefighters were injured during the blaze, which broke out at Risi Plaza in the 600 block of North Tustin Avenue. Two of the victims were treated for smoke inhalation and released later that night.
Of the four firefighters released Monday, two were expected to return to work this week, fire officials said.
One firefighter, identified as James Robertson, will be out of work for six weeks, while another, Bob Cloer, was told by doctors that he will have to rest for at least three months. Both men suffered first- and second-degree burns over various parts of their bodies.
As the firefighters left UCI Medical Center, arson investigators had not yet determined the cause of the fire. Damage to the two-story glass-and-concrete building was estimated at $800,000, fire officials said.
