Your article on tabloid TV contains the following quote from Av Westin (co-executive producer of “Inside Edition,” syndicated): “. . . information on television is finally coming of age.” Ha! It seems more like a second childhood to me. Tabloid TV is journalism at its worst. On a recent episode of “Hard Copy” (syndicated), I saw a “dramatization” of a fist fight between Cher and Madonna. This is news? It saddens me to think that Americans are more interested in this gossipy, sensationalistic drivel than they are in high quality news programs that inform them about important world events.
