Killea’s Decision
Lucy Killea takes the mantle of a “political virgin” when she resigns from the Democratic Party and she becomes a so-called nonpartisan, in the twilight of her political career.
Nonetheless she has to be commended for being the only San Diego Democrat who voted against the regressive tax package by Gov. Pete Wilson.
I would have sided with Lucy Killea in her revolt against the establishment Democrats if she had carried on the revolt within the Democratic Party in San Diego. It doesn’t need another kick in the head from one of its leaders.
There is a need for a Democratic Party in San Diego which is reflective of our voters and their political aspirations.
