Reader Likes Jackie’s Way of Thinking

I had a letter prepared to send to Sports Viewpoint before reading the article, “Profits, Not Pennants,” (Aug. 20). Jackie Autry said everything I had written. Pennants and profits will come if an honest, intelligent effort is made to build the best and bring about a continuity of personnel. The Angels are 30 years late in learning this. You can’t buy a pennant.
Long live Gene and long live Jackie and her sensibility.
