Your story refers to Roberts’ upcoming role in a Western as that of a “half-breed.”
From the context, it appears she will be portraying someone of white and American Indian parentage, and as most people of that mix will tell you, the term you chose is painfully derogatory.
The insensitive reference is anachronistic and insulting in a large metropolitan daily, especially one that serves a diverse population. The Times should have known better.
