Santa Monica : Smoking Ban Introduced
Smoking may soon be banned in many public buildings and public places in Santa Monica. The City Council Tuesday night introduced an ordinance that would prohibit smoking in a movie theater, museum, library, elevator, bus or supermarket, as well as in any public building owned by the city.
The council is scheduled to take a final vote on the measure next week, and it would take effect 30 days afterward.
Smoking is now prohibited only in City Hall.
