WHAT’S IN A NAME: Sale of La Habra-based Alpha Beta supermarkets was completed Monday (D8) but the new owners say they won’t be changing the name. . . . Founder Albert C. Gerrard, who opened his first one-stop grocery in 1910 in Santa Ana, got the name from his idea of stocking merchandise on shelves in alphabetical order.
