BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Parrish Goes on 15-Day Disabled List

Lance Parrish, who suffered a strained muscle in his right forearm a week ago, was put on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to last Monday. John Orton, who was optioned to triple-A Edmonton May 8, was recalled.
“I really wasn’t making a lot of progress,” Parrish said of the injury. “I can’t throw the way I want to and I’m still having pain in my arm.”
Mike Fetters, recalled from Edmonton Saturday, also arrived in Boston Sunday. He was 2-7 with a 4.87 earned-run average in 11 games, all starts. However, he will work out of the bullpen.
After winning eight consecutive series, this will be the Angels’ third series loss in a row. . . . Luis Polonia has four hits in his last 38 at-bats and is seven for 50 (.140) since June 1. After going hitless in four at-bats Sunday, his average fell to .297, the first time he has been below .300 since April 12. . . . First baseman Wally Joyner didn’t start Sunday but flied out as a pinch-hitter in the ninth.
