HUNTINGTON BEACH : Trustees Approve Pay Raise Package
- Share via
The Huntington Beach City School District board has approved pay raises of more than 6% through 1992 for the district’s management and other non-union employees.
The salary package, similar to teachers’ pay increases approved last month, provides 34 administrators, principals, secretaries and other workers with a 5.35% increase in pay and benefits for the current school year, retroactive to last July 1.
The 34 employees will receive salary hikes of at least 1% during 1991-92, depending upon state funding.
If the state provides schools with a cost-of-living adjustment for the coming year, it would be passed on to employees. Also, if the district receives a state supplemental grant--as it has the past two years--employees would receive an additional 1% raise.
The immediate pay hikes boost interim Supt. Gary Burgner’s annual salary to $82,085. Principals now earn between $54,128 and $60,923 a year, and district secretaries’ pay ranges from $22,236 to $28,068.
