Lakers Didn’t Win It, but Season Shouldn’t Be Called a Total Loss

The smartest or greatest play ever? I think not! I am referring to Magic’s time-expiring pass against Portland. I agree Magic’s the best to play his position, but that play was neither great or smart. It was luck! If you Laker fans take off the blinkers and check the replay, you’ll notice the following: Just before Magic got to the ball in the corner, A.C. Green started to fill the right lane for a fast break. But just as Magic let the pass go, A.C. stopped. Had Portland caught that ill-advised pass, it would rank right there with Rod Strickland’s no-look pass that cost San Antonio a victory in last year’s playoffs. So, is it the greatest or smartest play? No, it’s the luckiest.
