Dad Food : Balancing Dad’s Meal Budget
Here are tips to help men keep their meal budgets balanced:
* Raise nutrition dividends by investing in more carbohydrates at the table (pasta, whole grains, rice, bread).
* Unload the meat shares: Limit meats (anything with fins, furs, or feathers) to 4 to 7 ounces a day.
* Corner the food labeling market: Choose foods that have no more than 3 grams of fat per 100 calories. This will keep fat levels to 30% of calories.
* Make sure you have plenty of liquid assets: Drink plenty of fluids, especially when traveling, because airplane travel is dehydrating.
* Limit risky ventures: Keep alcohol intake to a maximum two drinks a day (one drink is equivalent to 12 ounces of beer, five ounces of wine or 1 1/2 ounces of hard liquor).
* Make sure your nutrition portfolio is rich in fruits and vegetables.
* Limit inflationary fats when eating out by ordering broiled or grilled meats, and ask for dressings and sauces on the side.
* And of course, don’t forget to diversify investments by eating a variety of foods.
