A Rude Surprise: Authorities were waiting for singer Eddie Kendricks when he showed up Monday in Detroit for the funeral of fellow Temptation David Ruffin. Kendricks, who lives in Marietta, Ga., was arrested at the New Bethel Baptist Church on charges of not paying $26,000 in child support. Sheriff’s deputies confronted Kendricks before the funeral but didn’t take him until after the funeral since he was a pallbearer. Kendricks and his ex-wife, Patricia, were divorced in 1975 in Detroit and have a son.
