Mike Haverty has resigned as president and chief operating officer of Santa Fe Railway. Robert D. Krebs, chairman and chief executive of the Schaumburg, Ill.-based railroad, will assume the additional responsibility of president.
Haverty said the recent spinoff of Santa Fe’s energy and realty businesses, along with combining the railway and holding company organizations, increased the overlap in his responsibilities and those of Krebs. He said he was leaving to pursue new challenges.
