Deadly Siege on RTD Bus
Clearly, bus drivers must be able to refuse admittance or continued occupancy in their bus by passengers they believe unfit. And they must have help. Ordinarily, such help must come from officials either aboard the bus or called to the bus, but the driver may have to try to enlist help from others. Such an expediency would require great care.
Considerable effort must be made to assign RTD police as conductors on a regular basis to certain bus routes. And perhaps as an unexpected windfall, passenger use of buses with security officials would increase a hundredfold!
