Kodak Introduces Filmless Camera: Eastman Kodak Co. took its first step into filmless photography by introducing an electronic camera system that can turn a conventional Nikon into a high-tech electronic camera. The Professional Digital Camera System will sell for about $20,000 and is intended primarily for photojournalists and government surveillance, Kodak said. The system uses a regular Nikon F3 camera body and lens, to which is attached an electronic back. Images can be transmitted directly by telephone lines to a computer, without need for film developing or finishing.
