Kevin Schwantz of the United States raced a Suzuki to victory in the 500cc class at the Hockenheim, Germany, international motorcycle race. Schwantz covered 18 laps in 36 minutes 20.491 seconds. He was only .016 of a second faster than Yamaha rider Wayne Rainey, also of the United States.
