Shipments of Breast Implants Halted: Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. announced that it has voluntarily suspended shipment of its breast implants as a result of safety questions raised in recent press reports. Unidentified Food and Drug Administration scientists quoted by the New York Times in a report published Sunday said the implant has been found to break down in the body and produce a chemical that causes cancer in laboratory animals.
