National Health Care Systems Inc., which operates DentiCare, a prepaid dental plan, said Tuesday that it was awarded a contract worth up to $383,000 to provide dental insurance coverage for two years for members of the Food Employees and Bakery and Confectionery Benefit Fund.
Beginning April 1, Denticare will offer dental services to the union’s 1,500 members in Southern California through Denticare’s new Alliance 2000 plan.
Under that plan, dentists who contract with Denticare receive a routine monthly payment per patient for providing preventive dental services such as examinations and teeth cleaning and a discounted fee for other professional services.
