VENTURA : Disputed Condos OKd Next to Inn
- Share via
After several years of debate, a three-unit condominium complex will be built on Poli Street in Ventura next to La Mer Bed and Breakfast Inn.
The City Council on Monday approved the project, which has been submitted repeatedly over the years by Michael Wooten of Darrick Marten Development Co. The complex, which has been revised several times since it was first proposed, has come under criticism from the owners of the neighboring bed and breakfast.
Geisla and Michael Baida told the council Monday night that the project would dwarf their quaint inn and block their ocean view. But council members said they were pleased with the new design of the project, which has been reduced in size since it was proposed nearly three years ago.
