WAILEA, Hawaii — Cindy Rarick, benefiting from a home-field advantage of sorts, shot a five-under-par 66 Wednesday for a one-shot lead after one round of the $500,000 Women’s Kemper Open.
Hollis Stacy, Brandie Burton and Karen Davies were at 67. Defending champion Beth Daniel was part of a group at 68.
Rarick, a Tucson, Ariz., resident, attended the University of Hawaii and plays some of her best golf here. Her first victory came in the 1987 Hawaiian Ladies Open.
