FILLMORE : City Council Adopts Water Restrictions
- Share via
Fillmore residents will be fined for over-watering their lawns, hosing driveways and failing to fix leaking pipes under regulations adopted by the City Council on Tuesday.
Fines begin at $25. Repeat offenders could have their water supplies curtailed or cut off completely.
City officials said the city’s code enforcement officer will cite violators, but city employees and citizens may also report violations.
The new rules are part of Fillmore’s policy to conserve before the community experiences a water shortage, officials said. The city pumps its water from an underground basin that benefits from water released from Lake Piru and from a waste water treatment plant in Los Angeles County.
