Happy Trails for Sinead?: After her much-publicized refusal to attend next week’s Grammy Awards, controversial Irish singer Sinead O’Connor was quoted as telling an Irish radio station last weekend that she might leave the music business, but her publicist Elaine Shock said that the statement is more a reaffirmation of her long-standing ambivalence about the recording industry than a new declaration. In fact, Shock said that O’Connor, 23, is now working on songs for a new album.
