WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

San Diego State (10-8, 3-2) took an early lead and routed Colorado State, 73-50, in a Western Athletic Conference game at Peterson Gym. The Aztecs were led by Elisha Johns, who scored a game-high 15, and Kieishsha Garnes, who scored 13. Colorado State is 8-12, 1-4.
MEN’S TENNIS
USD was defeated by 17th-ranked Arizona, 8-1, to drop to 0-3. The Toreros lone winner was Fredrick Axsater, who defeated Scott Sigerseth at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Arizona is 2-0. USD is ranked 25th.
BASEBALL
USD defeated Point Loma Nazarene, 12-3, in the season opener for both teams. Pat Crema (1-0) was the winner. Dion Dice, the losing pitcher, left without retiring any of the 12 batters he faced in the first inning. At that point, USD led 7-1. Jim Keen went 4-for-4 for USD.
