Nu-Med Has Quarterly Loss of $3.32 Million

Nu-Med Inc., an Encino operator of hospitals and other health care facilities, reported a $3.32-million loss for its fiscal second quarter, compared with a $2.89-million loss a year earlier.
The latest loss, which Nu-Med attributed in part to lower occupancy rates at its hospitals, came on a 7% decline in its revenue, to $60.8 million in the quarter that ended Oct. 31 from $65.5 million a year earlier.
For the first half of its fiscal year, Nu-Med had a loss of $2.36 million, compared with a $1.85-million loss a year earlier. Nu-Med’s six-month revenue fell 9%.
