Sierra Madre : Speed Limits to Be Lowered
- Share via
After hearing from residents about narrow streets, tight corners and unsafe drivers, the City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday to lower the maximum speed limit on six streets in Sierra Madre’s canyon area.
Speed limits will be lowered from 25 to 15 miles per hour on Woodland Drive, Brookside Lane, Alta Vista Drive, Oakdale Drive, Vista Circle and Sturtevant Drive east of Woodland Drive.
The reductions, tentatively approved by the council Nov. 27, were made at the recommendation of Sierra Madre Police Chief Bill Betts, who determined the need for the new limits after conducting a survey of vehicular speeds in the area.
