‘America Tonight’s’ Last Night: CBS News has set Jan. 18 as the final broadcast of its late-night “America Tonight” series, anchored by Charles Kuralt and Lesley Stahl. In a memo, CBS Broadcast Group President Howard Stringer praised the staff (which also includes Robert Krulwich and Edie Magnus as Friday anchors), adding that “we are very fortunate to know that we can count on the “America Tonight’ franchise as soon as breaking news warrants late-night CBS News specials.” Stringer said a new lineup of five late-night action dramas will debut Jan. 21.
