LOS ALAMITOS : Ed Burke Memorial Futurity Is 5th Victory for Jacks Dash

Jacks Dash won the $334,000 Ed Burke Memorial Futurity by three-quarters of a length over Reeds Signature Saturday night at Los Alamitos.
Ridden by Henry Garcia, Jacks Dash ran the 350-yard course in 17.55 seconds. Tolls Touch finished third, a nose behind Reeds Signature.
The winner paid $6.60, $4.80 and $3.60. Reeds Signature, a 40-1 shot, returned $21.40 and $9.20 and Tolls Touch paid $3.40. Each horse in the field of 10 2-year-olds carried 122 pounds.
Vital Sign, the 2-1 favorite, crossed under the wire fourth, but was disqualified and placed last for interference when he lugged out from the rail post and impeded A One Man Band.
Jacks Dash, a gelded son of Dash for Cash, earned $150,300 for his fifth victory in 11 starts and increased his total winnings to $171,503.
Jacks Dash also won the Breeders Freshman Classic at Los Alamitos on Nov. 17.
