Firm Seeks Restitution from Ex-Chairman: Ashland Oil Inc. is seeking restitution from Orin E. Atkins for expenses it incurred from his scheme to sell confidential documents to the National Iranian Oil Co. The former chairman, Atkins, faces sentencing Friday in Manhattan federal court for his role in the scheme. A settlement on restitution is expected to be announced at the sentencing. “We do anticipate there will be an agreement,” John C. Elam, a lawyer for Ashland, said. He declined to reveal details of the discussions. Atkins, 66, of North Palm Beach, Fla., pleaded guilty in September, 1989, to conspiracy and wire fraud and agreed to cooperate with the government.
