VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Linebacker Greg Battle returned one of his two interceptions 32 yards for a touchdown Sunday as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers dominated the Canadian Football League championship game, crushing the Edmonton Eskimos, 50-11, in the 78th Grey Cup.
Bomber quarterback Tom Burgess passed for three touchdowns and was named the game’s top offensive player.
Winnipeg set a Grey Cup record by scoring 28 consecutive points in the third quarter as it won its second CFL title in three years. The Bombers edged the B.C. Lions by one point in the 1988 Grey Cup.
Edmonton had eight turnovers.
