At this critical juncture in American history, what with the savings-and-loan fiasco, the growing economic malaise, and the frightening prospect of war in the land of Islam, California, the country’s most populous state, has been effectively left without senatorial representation in Washington.
Goodby, Sen. Cranston, I will miss you greatly. I hope Sen. Pete Wilson is a better governor than he is a senator. Now is when we need you both.
